Download Garageband for Mac Os X 10.6 8
Does this exist, and if then could anyone tell me where I can download it?
Just looking for a gratuitous version that I can download, don't desire to utilise the app store and don't accept iLife.
I don't need a new and fancy version, something bones is fine - just looking for the latest I can get for gratuitous on 10.6.5 if such a thing exists.
No it does not be. The iLife suite in of itself (older versions of it) are not free and there isn't a standalone version that is free other than the current version which will not piece of work on Snow Leopard.
iLife '09 volition be great for x.6
(run your System Update to do all updates, which volition update a diverseness of parts of your organization.)
Yes, you tin can choose a custom install of but Garageband.
Just realised my original software reinstall drive (or the one that came with the laptop anyway - mill slim white apple tree 8gb stick) says on it "Mac OSX v10.vi, iLife '11".
I tried installing GB (alone) off it but it fails with no reason given. Information technology's the same drive I used for installing OSX and had no issues (information technology has 10.6.five on information technology).
Is it just the drive beingness flaky? Seems odd to include an incompatible version.

Where did you get the "factory slim white apple tree 8gb stick"?
Apple tree never supplied Bone X on a flash drive, prior Lion (OS X x.7)
Still should piece of work, but Apple didn't provide that.
Did you run the iLife installer, and select a custom install of just Garageband?
Or, just try a file copy from the installer (which volition not piece of work)?
Have you tried just letting iLife install, without changing any settings? Y'all can always just trash the apps that yous don't want to keep.
Is at that place some reason that you don't upgrade your OS X system to 10.vi.8? You lot can run Software Update, or just download and install the combined updater directly from Apple - from here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
Where did you become the "manufacturing plant slim white apple 8gb stick"?
Apple never supplied Os 10 on a flash bulldoze, prior Lion (OS X 10.seven)Still should work, but Apple tree didn't provide that.
It's from Apple. The 2010 Macbook Air came with a USB software restore primal which had ten.vi.four or 10.six.v on information technology.
Yeah Apple did provide it, it's the one described in the post above. That is coincidentally my machine exactly - Late '10 MBA and the Apple stick has 10.six.five and iLife '11 on information technology. I'm a fleck surprised that people hither said simply GB from iLife '09 would work but it seems the computer came with '11 - dislocated.
I ran the installer, and chose a custom install of but GarageBand (and the compulsory iLife files which you lot can't un-bank check). I did not endeavor installing everything but I really don't want to do that. Plenty of free space on disk etc.
It doesn't effort to do much and apace says an unknown error occurred, is there a log somewhere I could bank check?
It doesn't endeavour to do much and quickly says an unknown fault occurred, is in that location a log somewhere I could check?
Unless you lot have a specially compelling reason not to update to ten.six.eight, run Software Update and utilize all the updates that appear. It make take more than ane round of update/restart to get them all. (Also notation that all the updates you get in Software Update are costless.) So come across if Garageband installs. If it does, y'all'll need to run Software Update again to get updates for Garageband.
